Armed robbers target Competition Commission deputy

Johannesburg - Competition Commission Deputy Commissioner Hardin Ratshisusu was accosted by armed robbers at the entrance to the residential complex where he lives in Midrand.

According to a statement released by the commission, Ratshisusu was getting off a shuttle from OR Tambo International Airport. He was returning from a SADC meeting in Botswana. Indications are that he may have been followed from the airport.

While Ratshisusu escaped unharmed, all his possessions were taken.

The Commission says it has activated all the relevant security interventions and is in contact with police ministry about the matter.

Police are investigating the incident.
