North West - Armed men made off with an undisclosed amount of money after blowing up an automated teller machine (ATM) in Mahikeng in the early hours of Wednesday, North West police.
Colonel Sabata Mokgwabone said an unknown number of men blew up a Standard Bank ATM at a filling station in Golfview at around 3am.
“According to information, the employees were inside the shop when they saw a white Nissan X-trail arriving at the filling station. One of them allegedly went outside in order to assist,” said Mokgwabone.
“The employees then heard gun shots and took cover. A loud bang was heard and upon inspection after the suspects had sped off from the place, it was established that the ATM was blown up with explosives and an undisclosed amount of money was taken.”
