Pretoria -

Two policemen accused of corruption allegedly involving R1.1 million were granted bail of R10 000 each by the Pretoria Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, the Hawks said.

Maj-Gen Solly Lazarus and Colonel Hein Barnard, both of whom have been suspended, were arrested on Tuesday, said Hawks' spokesman Captain Paul Ramaloko.

They faced charges of theft, fraud and corruption for allegedly benefitting from a secret crime intelligence “slush fund”.

Ramoloko said the case was postponed until February 21. - Sapa
