The family of a married man on the run for allegedly kidnapping and assaulting his ex-girlfriend has appealed to him to hand himself over to police.

Victor Moses of Steenberg allegedly lured Carmen Nomdoe of Hanover Park into his car, before driving off with her on January 2.

Carmen, 44, says during her four-hour ordeal, Victor beat her eyes shut with his fists and choked her.

He also stuffed her panty into her mouth to keep her quiet, and locked her up in his car’s boot while he put in petrol in Atlantis.

Victor has since been on the run, and police believe he could be hiding out in Goodwood, Parow, Bellville or Elsies River.

On Wednesday, his emotional family asked him to come out of hiding and “do the right thing”.

In a message sent to the Daily Voice, a relative says: “As family I urge you to turn yourself in, you are making things worse. You have hurt a lot of people including your closest family.

“We have not seen or heard from you since New Year’s Day. What you did to Carmen is not the man we know. You need to be a man and do the right thing.”

Carmen said on Wednesday Victor, a dad of two, attacked her because she was getting fed up of him pestering her.

The mom of four found out on Facebook in December that her lover had got married, and told him to stop bothering her.

“He got legally married on 13 February last year, and received the blessing on 14 February. We were seeing each other on and off after that, and I had my suspicions that there was someone else, but not that he was actually married,” she says.

Carmen says she’s known Victor and his family for years.

“He grew up in Manenberg and moved to Steenberg when he got married the first time,” she says.

“His siblings were friends with my brother and sister, I probably know more about Victor than his wife does. I used to visit his family with him all the time.”

She started going out with Victor four years ago, but dumped him in 2014.

“He didn’t want to end the relationship, and he would rock up at my work with lunch, or at my home. I accommodated him to get him off my back because he was very demanding and forceful.

“On the day he got married, he still chatted to me on WhatsApp. He didn’t act like a married man.”

She admits that they’ve been “friends with benefits” and that he had proposed to her.

“But I broke things off with him [in 2014] because I could see through him, he wanted to milk women. This is his fourth marriage.

“He comes from a nice family, but he is a lovely liar and a smooth talker.”

Carmen has since lost her job at a hairdresser, and has to visit the hospital “two or three times a week” for treatment to her fractured nose and jaw.
