Rustenburg - Two of the three awaiting-trial prisoners, who escaped from the Bethanie police holding cells, near Brits were re-arrested on Wednesday, North West police said.

Lieutenant Colonel Amanda Funani said the police re-arrested Patrick Moyo and Zacharia Chauke was arrested after police received a tip-off from members of the community.

“The suspects, Patrick Moyo, 26, and Zacharia Chauke, 32, who are Zimbabwean and Mozambican nationals respectively, are expected to appear in the Brits Magistrate’s Court soon on a charge of escape from lawful custody.”

The two together with Victor Mandosela, 41 allegedly escaped through a window after removing steel burglar proof at the Bethanie police holding cells in April this year. They were in detention for burglary and house robbery cases.
