Johannesburg - A 55-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly speeding while on his way to bail out a relative who was arrested in connection with the same offence, Johannesburg metro police said.
The man, riding a motorcycle, was allegedly travelling at 164km/h in a 120km/h zone on Sunday, said Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar.
“He was caught on the N1 highway while rushing to pay bail for his 54-year-old cousin,” Minnaar said.
The cousin is accused of travelling at 166km/h on a motorcycle near the same spot earlier on Sunday.
Both men are due to appear in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court on Monday. - Sapa
