Durban - Missing Bluff butcher Ian Henry has been found unharmed three days after he went missing.

His wife, Trish, said he had been found at about 2am today.

“I can’t say anything more at this stage,” she said. “We just want to thank everybody for all their help and sympathy.”

Police spokesman, Captain Thulani Zwane, confirmed that Henry had been found.

“The case is now closed. He was found unharmed. We will not be investigating further,” he said.

According to a BBM posting by the KZN Search and Rescue group – an information sharing forum – it is believed Henry was located at SunCoast and had been taken to hospital. It is believed he is being treated for dehydration.

Zwane said they had received unconfirmed reports that Henry had been found at Suncoast.

“We have not been able to contact the family. Their phones go unanswered,” Zwane said.

Henry, 46, a business partner and manager of Bluff Meat Supply in Hillcrest, was meant to have attended a meeting on Monday, but never arrived. Last night, his family said they had received numerous calls from people claiming to have seen him, but the leads had all come to nought.

His daughter Chanel said: “On Tuesday night, we drove to Crompton Hospital after someone called to say he had seen our father there. He was not there.”

It is believed Henry’s silver-grey Corsa bakkie was recovered.
