Bloemfontein - A teenager was stabbed to death at Thaba Nchu in the Free State in the early hours of New Year's Day.

Body parts were missing from the corpse, according to police.

Police spokesperson Constable Consolation Mokoale said on Sunday that police had arrested two teenagers, aged 17 and 19, in connection with the incident.

The victim, 17, and the other two teenagers had been drinking at a tavern when an argument broke out.

The pair will appear in the Selosesha Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.

Selosesha station commander Colonel Pule Sekese condemned the “barbaric killing of a person, especially during the festive season when everybody is supposed to be happy”. - Sapa
