Boschkop police are searching for a man, 30, who they believe could shed some light on a murder that happened almost a year ago.

Obet Chauke is believed to have information relating to the murder of Denise Stratford. She was killed and her body was found stuffed in a drain at Mooikloof Office Park in November last year.

At the time of the murder, a security guard, 23, was arrested in Mamelodi East. Police found him in possession of Stratford’s VW Polo, reported missing after her murder.

Police reportedly also found a gun they believe was linked to the crime, and bloodstained clothes.

Stratford had told her family she’d be working late. But she did not return home, nor did she answer her phone.

Police spokesman Johannes Japhta said Chauke was believed to have been on duty with the guard who was arrested. Chauke was last seen in Phomolong Section, Saulsville, but he might have moved to Alexandra

, Japhta said.

Anyone with information can call Warrant Officer Attie Bester at 071 342 3882, crime line at 0860 10111 or go to the nearest police station.
