Seshego - Three people arrested for running an illegal FET college appeared in the Seshego Magistrate's Court on Wednesday, Limpopo police said.

Seshego Further Education and Training college head Hangwani Joseph Mukwevho, 57, his wife Olebile Monica Mukwevho, 45, and Avhapfani Dalton Mululuma, 31, appeared briefly in court on Wednesday, Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi said.

They would remain in custody until their next appearance on January 25.

“Police are appealing to all previous and current students of the college to report to their nearest police station and furnish the police with their full names, identity number, contact details and place of residence. This is to broaden the investigation and allow the police to have a database of students who have been ripped off.”

On Monday, the Hawks closed down Seshego FET College in Zone 7, and its branch at 75 Church Street, in Polokwane. The three were arrested in the process. A total of R69 250 was found at the campuses.

Their arrests followed investigations which started when students went to the department of higher education to enquire about the legitimacy of the college. - Sapa
