Durban - The trial of two brothers accused of killing an NFP member was postponed in the uMlazi Magistrate's Court on Friday.

Muzi, 29, and Xolani Ntuli, 32, had been expected to bring a formal bail application, but their legal counsel sought a postponement because they had not received all the documentation from the prosecution to allow them to prepare.

The two brothers are charged with the murder of National Freedom Party member Mthunzi Gwala, who was shot last month.

As was the case during their last appearance, the court was filled to capacity with NFP and Inkatha Freedom Party supporters.

eThekwini Metro police kept a visible presence outside the court building as the supporters dispersed after the brothers' brief appearance.

Gwala's body was found on the road in uMlazi's T-section with four gunshot wounds to the head.

The two are expected back in court on September 6.
