The case of two men accused of killing a man in a Cape Town police station's cells was postponed by the Bellville Magistrate's Court on Monday, the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) said.
Spokesman Eric Ntabazalila said Daniel Dyosi and Sipho Mhlanga would appear again on May 10 for a formal bail application.
Colonel Frederick van Wyk said the men allegedly assaulted Eben Meyer, 48, in the Durbanville police station cells around 1.30am on Saturday.
Meyer was arrested for apparently being drunk in public and was put into the cells with eight other people. Van Wyk said it seemed Meyer had an argument and a fight broke out. Meyer died soon after from his injuries. Ntabazalila said no weapons were used in the fight. - Sapa
