Johannesburg -

A police officer in Alexandra, Johannesburg was arrested for allegedly accepting a R10 000 bribe to destroy a docket, the Hawks said on Saturday.

The 42-year-old warrant officer was arrested after receiving the money on Friday, said Captain Paul Ramaloko.

He said the officer who was based in the docket store, accepted the bribe from a man accused of house robbery and hijacking.

The officer had agreed to destroy the docket in exchange for the money and was arrested as soon as the money was transferred to his account.

Ramaloko said the officer was expected to appear in the Wynberg Magistrate's Court soon. - Sapa
