A 43-year-old policeman arrested for sexually assaulting his daughter appeared in the Upington Magistrate's Court on Monday, the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) said.

Spokesman Moses Dlamini said he was granted R2000 bail and the case was postponed until May 15.

Dlamini said the warrant officer was arrested for allegedly massaging and fondling his 17-year-old daughter's breasts in her room on Saturday.

“The policeman was arrested after the victim reported the matter to the police. He was detained at Upington police cells,” he said. - Sapa
