Cop held for kidnapping in N West

Three people, including a police officer, have been arrested for allegedly kidnapping, assaulting and robbing a man from Lokgabeng village, Taung, North West police said on Sunday.

The man claimed he was kidnapped from his home on Saturday, Lt-Col Lesego Metsi said.

He was asleep when three intruders apparently woke him up, tied his hands, put him into a car and drove off with him.

“The victim alleges that the suspects assaulted him and accused him of having stolen their property. He told police that the suspects pulled his private parts and urinated on him before robbing him of his cellular phone and a cash.”

A woman constable, a man and a woman were arrested. They would appear in the Taung Magistrate's Court on Tuesday. - Sapa
