Rustenburg - A policeman shot his wife dead before turning the gun on himself in Taung, North West police said on Wednesday.

Sergeant Kealeboga Molale said Constable Neo Patrick Galodikwe, 31, of Pudumoe police in Taung allegedly shot his wife Constable Lillian Galodikwe, 30, on Tuesday. She was stationed at the Seven police station in Kuruman in the Northern Cape.

“The incident happened at Extension 6 in Taung where the couple resides,” said Molale said.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that the husband fired his official firearm several times at his wife before turning it to himself, he only sustained one shot.”

She said a neighbour heard several gunshots at around 10.30pm on Tuesday night. In the morning he noticed that their house door was open.

“When he went into the house he noticed the couple’s bodies lying in a pool of blood on the floor in their living room.”
