Johannesburg -

Judgment is expected to be delivered in the High Court in Johannesburg on Thursday in the trial of a Randburg police constable facing multiple charges of rape, robbery, and kidnapping.

Constable Mokolo Karpos Molekwa, 30, stood trial for the crimes allegedly committed in 2011 and 2012 in various areas, including Tembisa, Ivory Park, Olifantsfontein, and Randburg, Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) spokeswoman Grace Langa said on Wednesday.

Molekwa was stationed at the Randburg police station.

Langa said the Ipid was investigating five other similar cases Molekwa allegedly committed in Limpopo and Pretoria.

Molekwa had been kept in custody since his arrest and during his trial after his bid to obtain bail was opposed by the State on three different occasions, she said. - Sapa
