Welkom - Free State police were searching on Thursday for four men who robbed a Bangladeshi-owned supermarket and raped two women in Thabong, near Welkom.
The four gained entry into the supermarket by breaking through a wall on Thursday morning, Warrant Officer Malebo Khosana said.
One of the men demanded money from the owner at gunpoint. The owner was stabbed and assaulted.
A female employee and the owner's wife were raped.
The four fled with money, airtime vouchers, cigarettes and other stock worth about R12 700.
