Nelspruit - Mpumalanga police on Thursday urged the public to come forward with information that could lead to the arrest of those responsible for the murder of one of the country's top veterinarians.

“Police are looking for any information that could lead to the arrest of perpetrator(s) responsible for the murder of a 46-year-old woman, Dr Rensia de Wet,” said spokesman Brigadier Selvy Mohlala.

De Wet was found half naked with multiple stab wounds in the bedroom of her Nottinghill Equestrian Estate home. The house had been ransacked but police could not say what was taken or missing.

“We are still investigating to establish if she was raped. The house was ransacked and everything was upside down. It appears the motive might have been robbery,” Mohlala said.
