Police seized 198 kilograms of dagga when they searched a Mercedes-Benz on the R51 between Mthatha and Port St Johns on Wednesday, Eastern Cape police said.
Superintendent Mzukisi Fatyela said police stopped the Mercedes-Benz during a stop and search operation at about 4am.
“Police found 39 bags of dagga in the boot of the vehicle and on the back seat. It was covered by a blanket.”
He said the street value of the dagga was R198 000.
Two men, aged 32 and 31, and a 34-year-old woman were arrested, and the vehicle was confiscated.
Fatyela said they would soon appear in court on charges of dealing in drugs and for being in possession of drugs. – Sapa
