Two Zimbabwean nationals thought to be on the run from a robbery in Botswana were due in court on Wednesday over the alleged illegal possessions of firearms and ammunition, police said.

North West police spokesman Brigadier Thulani Ngubane said the 27- and 32-year-old were arrested at the Swartkop border post into North West province from Botswana on Monday evening.

Police seized three firearms and 24 rounds of ammunition, as well as allegedly robbed money and airtime vouchers.

“The Provincial Commissioner of the North West, Lieutenant General Zukiswa Mbombo, would like to congratulate all members involved in achieving this success,” the media statement said. - Sapa
