Johannesburg - A Johannesburg Water contractor was arrested on Friday for allegedly taking a bribe from a Hillbrow resident, the Hawks said.
When the city cut the man's water and electricity at the Hays flats, the 34-year-old contractor offered to reconnect him for R2 500, spokesman Captain Paul Ramaloko said.
He contacted the police and the contractor was arrested around 2pm. He would appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court on Monday.
