Johannesburg - Four men have been arrested in Tembisa after police found about R500 000 in counterfeit money, said Ekurhuleni police on Friday.

“(Police)... arrested four male suspects last night for possession of counterfeit money, after stopping a suspicious-looking BMW sedan with four male occupants at Sangweni section,” said spokesman Wilfred Kgasago.

“On searching the suspects' vehicle, a container full of R200 notes was found in the vehicle. The recovered notes amounted to approximately R500 000.”

The men were between 22 and 44 years old.

They would appear before the Tembisa Magistrate's Court on Monday. - Sapa
