Durban - A mother and her three adult children, who are believed to be the owners of a crèche where an employee was gunned down, are being charged with his murder.
Devrani Boodram, 58, and her children, Pradeep Ranjith, 44, Prakash Ranjith, 42, and Reshma Boodram, 30, made a brief appearance at the Verulam Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
They are being charged with the murder of Bhekuyise Patrick Radebe, 43, and defeating the ends of justice.
It is alleged Radebe, who was in their employment, was gunned down near the Kiddyfiddlers Daycare centre in Everest Heights, Verulam, on Tuesday morning.
The circumstances surrounding the murder are unclear at this stage.
The four accused were remanded into custody at the Verulam SAPS until next week, when they are expected to make a formal bail application.
The police are continuing their investigations.
