Struggling to contain his emotions, a foster father who hired a stripper for his 13-year-old son sat with his head in his hands, wiping away tears moments before appearing in court.
Visibly nervous, the 32-year-old air force technician who faces charges of indecent exposure of a woman’s private parts and sexual exploitation of a child, stood twitching with his hands behind his back.
It is alleged that he hired a stripper – whose number he found in the classified section of a newspaper – to strip and perform sexual acts with his 13-year-old son during World Cup festivities last year.
The incident happened while the boy was visiting the man in Pretoria.
The man has yet to plead.
The court heard from the accused’s defence, Ferdi Hartzenberg, that he was not ready to proceed with the trial.
Hartzenberg asked to withdraw from the case and said he believed the accused wanted to apply for Legal Aid.
The boy and his foster mother, who were due to testify as State witnesses, were excused and the case was postponed to December 14 for confirmation of Legal Aid. - The Star
