Pietermaritzburg -
A 62-year-old father, accused of killing his son, has appeared in the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate's Court, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Tuesday.
Raymond Mohlakoane appeared in the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate's Court on Monday with his daughters Pinkie, 37, and Sizakele, 36, who are co-accused in the murder of their brother Karabo, 26, said Colonel Vincent Mdunge.
The case was postponed until August 27. The three remained in custody, he said.
Mdunge said it was alleged that Mohlakoane turned on his son when he attacked him with an axe while trying to defend his mother, in Imbali, Pietermaritzburg.
The two women were trying to stop the fight, when their brother fell and was burnt by boiling water. They and their father then allegedly attacked him with a golf club. He later died of his injuries.
Neighbours called the police and the three were arrested.
Mdunge said they had been charged with murder and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. - Sapa
