Mthokozisi Sibeko Mdandas body was found in a rubbish bin in a garage at his home in Soweto on Saturday.
Johannesburg - The father of a boy found dead in a dustbin in Soweto has been arrested for the murder, police said on Tuesday.
The boy, 12, from Jabavu, had been missing for a week, but was found face-down in a dustbin on Saturday night, Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela said.
“Yesterday we reconstructed the crime scene and some clues were found.”
Blood was found on the father's clothing and next to the dustbin. The boy's neck and both legs had been broken.
“That led us to change the case from inquest to murder.”
The man, 47, was arrested and had been detained at the Moroka police station. He would appear in the Protea Magistrate's Court on Thursday. - Sapa
