The Parow Regional Court heard that a 73-year-old man, who has pleaded guilty to indecently assaulting three teenagers and being in possession of 89 pornographic images of the girls, has abandoned a bid to be released on bail.
A father of six appeared in the Seshego Magistrate's Court on Thursday on two counts of murder and 29 of rape, Limpopo police said.
Lt-Col Ronel Otto said the trial of the married man was postponed to July 19, for further investigation.
He remained in custody, she said.
The man, who cannot be named until he has pleaded, was arrested on May 22.
Seven years of intensive investigations led to his arrest.
The victims were mostly women who lived alone in Moletjie, outside Seshego near Polokwane.
They were raped after their houses were broken into. Two of the victims, a 14-year-old girl and a 72-year-old woman, were killed after being raped.
