Durban - A love triangle that turned violent resulted in the deaths of two people and the jailing of two others – one an alleged hitman.

Duduzile Nomsuka, 23, and alleged hitman Qalokwakhe Ngubane, 35, appeared in the Durban Magistrate’s Court on Monday for the murders of Vumile Gcima, 34, and his girlfriend Lucy Veletshoma, 24.

It is alleged they shot and killed the couple on November 1 while they were asleep.

Police said their bodies were found by the owner of the property after he heard gunshots.

On Friday, Detective warrant officer Madoda Mhlonga, of the Cato Manor police, arrested a woman in KwaMashu who was “in love” with Gcima.

“Through investigation it was established that she allegedly hired a man to kill Veletshoma and Gcima because of love affairs,” said police spokesman Captain Thulani Zwane.

He said Ngubane, an alleged hitman, handed himself in at Estcourt police station after he heard that the police were looking for him.

“The firearm believed to have been used in the shooting was recovered and will be sent for ballistic tests to establish if it was used in the double murder,” Zwane said. – Daily News
