Johannesburg - Two people accused of killing a man and leaving his body in his car at Montecasino, Johannesburg, appeared briefly in the Randburg Magistrate's Court on Thursday.

The matter was postponed as the defence was not ready to proceed with the bail application.

Jean-Pierre Malan and his girlfriend, former stripper Maruschka Robinson, face murder charges after Dustan Blom's decomposing body was found in the boot of his car in the parking garage at the entertainment venue in September.

Robinson was arrested on September 24, and Malan on September 26.

Shaun Hamilton, for Robinson, said there were “too many variables” in the case to bring a bail application.

“We request further particulars regarding the case from the State.”

Prosecutor Yusuf Baba told the court the defence was frustrating the case.

“The State is ready to rock and roll... and the defence is asking for a postponement for the third time. The defence needs to make it clear to the court whether they want to proceed with a bail application or not,” Baba said.

Malan and Robinson sat quietly apart in the dock as they listened to proceedings. Magistrate Vincent Pienaar postponed the matter to May 20. - Sapa
