Johannesburg - The trial of a Limpopo doctor accused of raping two female patients in his surgery is set to resume in the Thohoyandou Regional Court on Monday.

The doctor, aged 40, faces two counts of rape and indecent assault after a patient claimed he forced her to have sex with him as part of her treatment. After she lodged the complaint another woman came forward with similar allegations.

The trial started in January this year.

The rape allegations made headlines in 2011, with the doctor being released on bail of R30 000 in October that year. - Sapa
