Cape Town - Police are investigating the murder of a domestic worker, Anna Giyama, who was found dead in her Plumstead employer’s home.
Giyama, 61, was found in the spare bedroom of the house in Severn Road on Tuesday afternoon.
Police spokesman Captain FC van Wyk said the circumstances surrounding her death were being investigated.
“No one has been arrested as yet and it is suspected that the woman was strangled.”
Giyama lived in Brown’s Farm in Philippi.
Warrant Officer Keith Chandler, of the Diep River police, said Giyama was found partially clothed with her hands and feet bound.
“No shots were fired and no signs of forced entry were visible,” he said.
