A domestic worker accused of sexually assaulting her boss’ son has displayed a bit of a Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde personality.

The accused revealed two sides to her character as she appeared in the Wynberg Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

The 24-year-old woman with her short hair tied back from her full face sat as quiet as a mouse while she waited for her case to be called.

She looked like an ordinary girl next door dressed in a striped hooded tracksuit top and jeans

When her name was called out, the accused shuffled up to the dock and kept her head down while she listened to court officials discuss the progress of the police investigation.

But as soon as the matter was done, she strutted out of court with a smug grin on her face.

Gone was the timid girl and in her place was a cocky, self-assured young woman who turned and smiled at her male companion as they walked away together.

The accused, who faces a charge of rape for allegedly forcing her employer’s 15-year-old son to have sex with her, lives within metres of three schools – the Sonskyn Pre-Primary School and Macassar Primary and High schools.
