File picture: Two men were arrested when dagga worth R100 000 was found in Eldorado Park, Johannesburg.

Kinkelbos, Eastern Cape - Eastern Cape police seized dagga worth over R5 million on Monday while searching a bus on the N2 in Kinkelbos, near Port Elizabeth.

Police found 71 bags of dagga in a white Mercedes Benz delivery bus during a routine check, Captain Andre Beetge said.

“The bags weighed about 50kg each, making the total weight of dagga about 3.5 tons.”

The 34-year-old bus driver was arrested and charged with dealing in dagga. He was expected to appear in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate's Court soon. - Sapa
