Bloemfontein - A taxi driver from Mangaung was killed in an apparent road rage incident, police said on Wednesday.

Police spokesman Warrant Officer Zweli Mohobeleli said the 46-year-old taxi driver was shot during the incident at an intersection in Phase 5 in Mangaung around 8.30pm on Tuesday.

Police said according to witnesses an argument ensued between the taxi driver and the driver of a blue Toyota Corolla at the intersection. “The suspect, who was driving... followed the deceased for about 300m before shooting the deceased (taxi driver),” said Mohobeleli.

Police at the Bloemspruit police station were investigating a case of murder.

No arrest had been made.
