Johannesburg – A man was arrested in Kathu in the Northern Cape for dealing in drugs valued at an estimated R500 000, police said on Friday.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Hendrick Swart said a black VW Golf was spotted in the town on Thursday morning at around 3:30.

“According to information, the owner of the Golf, a Nigerian citizen, is allegedly involved in dealing in drugs.”

Swart said the man was followed to his premises where a search of the house was conducted.

“Drugs such as tik, tik crystals, mandrax and dagga were confiscated.”

The man is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
