Durban -

Police have released a picture of one of the men allegedly involved in robbing the Fynnlands Sports Club bar on the Bluff.

Three men harassed staff before robbing them of cash and cellphones last Monday, at 9am.

Brighton Beach police spokeswoman, Captain Louise le Roux, said the men allegedly produced a handgun and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash. They sped off in a silver Corsa Sedan with NUZ number plates. No one was injured.

Club manager, Carol Statt, said one of the staff had gone outside to take out the refuse. This allowed the men to walk in. No patrons were in the club.

“Normally the door is locked while we clean. One of the men cocked the gun in her face. A bullet fell off on to my table. The other men grabbed the bar lady over the counter. They pushed us into a back room and closed the gate,” Statt said.

The picture was obtained from CCTV footage. Roux said the suspect was bald, with a round face and a goatee beard. He has a scar on his left cheek running towards his left eye.

Anyone with information can contact Brighton Beach detective head, Lieutenant-Colonel Jayson McGrey, at 082 411 6400 or at 031 451 8059/60.
