Hankey - Two men have been arrested in Gamtoos Valley, near Hankey, for housebreaking, theft, and possession of stolen property, Eastern Cape police said on Thursday.

The men, aged 22 and 32, were arrested on Wednesday when they were found with, among other things, a flat screen television and electrical equipment, said Warrant Officer Basil Seekoe.

The value of the items was estimated at R40 000.

They were found in the Gamtoos Mouth area, near bushes to which the men were seen running.

The men were accused of breaking into houses at Gamtoos Resort and the Florence Private Nature Resort, Seekoe said.

They would appear in the Hankey Magistrate's Court on Monday.
