A 49-year-old woman was shot dead and her husband shot and wounded at their home in Qwe-Qwe, Mthatha, on Sunday, Eastern Cape police said.
The 50-year-old man was taken to a nearby hospital in a serious but stable condition, Lt Colonel Mzukisi Fatyela said.
Two armed men broke into the couple's home and stole their two cellphones and R300 cash before shooting them and fleeing the scene.
“No arrests have been made yet and police are still investigating the motive of the crime,” Fatyela said. -Sapa
