Bloemfontein – A 60-year-old woman was tied up and robbed at her farm in Kloofeinde outside Bloemfontein on Monday evening, Free State police said in a statement on Tuesday.

Police spokesperson Captain Chaka Marope said the elderly woman arrived home at about 5:30pm when she was attacked inside her house by three men wearing balaclavas.

Armed with guns, the men bound her hands and feet, and then ransacked her house.

"The suspects managed to open the safe and took one rifle with 30 rounds, a cellphone, bank cards, cash and drove away with the victim's silver Audi A4 with the registration FBW 551 FS".

Marope said the woman had slight injuries on her legs and hands. No arrests have been made yet, and police are appealing to anyone with information to contact the Parkweg police station on 051507 6000.
