Cape Town - A man accused of murdering ticket tout Toufiq Joseph will appear in the Cape Town Magistrate's Court again in April.

David Forbes, 48, was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, but appeared on Monday instead, where his case was postponed to April 23 for further investigation.

Forbes, the founder of Boksburg's H2O parties and a consultant to the Ultra Music Festival SA, allegedly shot Joseph, 23, at an Engen petrol station in Orange Street, Cape Town, on January 24.

Forbes then waited at the petrol station for police to arrive.

Court records show he had a previous conviction for common assault, for which he had paid an admission of guilt fine.

He claimed Joseph threatened him and that he shot him in self-defence. He would plead not guilty to murder.

During Monday's court proceedings, Magistrate Nikki Okes ruled that releasing Forbes on bail was not in the interest of justice.

Forbes then approached this Western Cape High Court, where he was released on R20 000 bail.

Joseph's family, who were not aware of Monday's proceedings, arrived at court on Thursday, only to hear that Forbes had appeared earlier in the week.
