Two awaiting trial prisoners who escaped from a police cell have been re-arrested in Motlhabeng Village, in the North West, police said on Thursday.
Brigadier Thulane Ngubane said the men were caught on Wednesday night.
They and three others cut a hole through the roof of a holding cell at the Ottoshoop police station on Sunday.
They had been awaiting trial on charges of robbery, arson, assault and housebreaking.
Ngubane said the other three escapees were still on the run. – Sapa
