A 28-year-old man was arrested after his ex-girlfriend accused him of rape in Zola, Soweto, police said on Sunday.

The woman, 20, reported being abducted by an ex-boyfriend on Friday and taken to a house where she was repeatedly raped, spokesman Warrant Officer Kay Makhubele said.

“She opened a case on Saturday morning after she was allegedly released by the man.”

The man was found at his workplace in Carletonville and arrested on Saturday. He would appear in the Protea Magistrate's Court on Monday. - Sapa
