Cape Town -

The fraud trial of former Fidentia boss J Arthur Brown has been postponed until Wednesday.

Brown is accused of running a pyramid scheme and using investors' money to fund a lavish lifestyle. He faces four counts of fraud, two of corruption, one of money-laundering and two of theft.

Earlier this week, Fundi Projects director Leon Grobbelaar, who invested money with Brown, took the stand.

Brown, representing himself, had been scheduled to cross examine Grobbelaar on Tuesday. The matter was postponed and he would be called back at a later date to be cross-examined.

The trial had been dogged by delays since Brown's arrest in 2007. His trial only started in November last year.

The State planned to call Dalpat Naran from the Transport, Education and Training Authority (Teta) as its next witness.

Brown is accused of soliciting a R200 million investment from Teta by giving its boss Piet Bothma a R6 million bribe. - Sapa
