Cape Town - The fraud and corruption trial of ex-Fidentia CEO J Arthur Brown was postponed in the Western Cape High Court on Thursday.
Brown and Jannie van Vuuren, for the State, would sit together for a week and discuss further admissions that could be made to shorten the trial.
The trial was expected to resume on February 18, with the calling of a new witness.
Brown is on trial for allegedly running a pyramid scheme and using investors' funds for his personal gain.
He has pleaded not guilty to four counts of fraud, two of corruption, one of money-laundering and two of theft.
Some of the charges relate to him allegedly soliciting a R200
million investment from the Transport and Education Training Authority (Teta) by giving former Teta CEO Piet Bothma a R6 million bribe.
Prosecutor Thersia Du Toit-Smit told Sapa she would be in Johannesburg next week for Bothma's trial in the Specialised Commercial Crimes Court.
Former Fidentia director Steve Goodwin was expected to testify against Bothma.
Goodwin served almost five years of a nine-year prison sentence for fraud and was recently released under correctional supervision. - Sapa
