Durban - Five people accused of killing an IFP supporter appeared briefly in the Durban Regional Court on Friday.
The matter was postponed to Monday for Malusi Sibusiso Ncengwa to apply for legal aid.
Two of his co-accused, National Freedom Party councillor Mgezeni “Bhungu” Gwala and his son Bonginhlanhla, would also ask the court to relax their bail conditions.
Gwala, his sons Mjabulelwa and Bonginhlanhla, Ncengwa, and Skhumbuzo Nxumalo are charged with killing Inkatha Freedom Party supporter Cebisile Shezi.
She was shot dead outside the Thembalihle railway station, in KwaMashu, shortly after Police Minister Nathi Mthethwa addressed IFP supporters at a sports field in A-section, KwaMashu, on October 6, 2012. She was wearing an IFP T-shirt at the time.
State prosecutor Joel Kisten also asked for a postponement because a decision had not been made on whether the matter would be heard in the high court or not.
Gwala, Bonginhlanhla, and Ncengwa are out on bail.
