Comment on this story

Johannesburg - Five men accused of attacking and robbing a family, killing a teenage girl in the process, have been arrested, Gauteng police said on Wednesday.

Lt-Col Katlego Mogale said four Zimbabweans and a South African were arrested on Tuesday.

“Three suspects were surprised at an informal settlement in Zwartkops and two were cornered in Diepsloot.”

A memory card belonging to one of the teenage girls was found on one of the men.

A 13-year-old girl, her 17-year-old sister, and their father were shot and robbed by a group of robbers outside their home in Muldersdrift last week.

The men ordered the family out of their car and took their cellphones before shooting them.

The man and his daughters were rushed to hospital, where the youngest died on arrival.
