Five held for drugs worth R1.5m

Stock picture: KwaZulu-Natal police have arrested a Nigerian man for alleged drug peddling in Durban.

Ratanda - Five people were arrested after being found in possession of drugs worth about R1.5 million in Ratanda, near Heidelberg, police said on Tuesday.

Police seized the drugs, which included cocaine, at a house in Mngomezulu Street on Monday, Constable Teduntsho Tsotetsi said.

“Gauteng K9 unit was patrolling the area when they noticed a suspicious looking woman outside a house.”

The 19-year-old woman was searched and drugs were found in her possession.

Four people were found processing drugs when police entered the house. Three cellphones and R7000 cash were confiscated. - Sapa
