Bloemfontein - Five men have been arrested in connection with the murder of an elderly Bethulie couple, Free State police said on Wednesday.
Spokesman Constable Maselela Langa said the men, aged between 17 and 25, were taken into custody in Bethulie around 4am on Wednesday.
Gordon and Launa Adams, both in their 70s, were found dead in their house in Bethulie on Saturday. They had stab wounds.
Two firearms were stolen from the safe. The attackers fled the scene in the couple’s Toyota bakkie. Police recovered one firearm on Wednesday.
The five would appear in the Bethulie Magistrate's Court soon. - Sapa
