Durban - Five men have handed themselves over to police in connection with the death of a rugby fan in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Wednesday.
Four were taken into custody by police on Tuesday, while a fifth handed himself in to police on Wednesday, said Colonel Vincent Mdunge.
They are accused of beating Brett Williams, 29, to death at a Super XV match in Durban last month.
Mdunge said the five would appear in the Durban Magistrate's Court on Thursday on a charge of murder.
They also face an additional charge of assault with intention to do grievous bodily harm.
Mdunge said this charge was related to the assault of a security guard who tried to intervene and stop the March 23 attack on Williams. - Sapa
